“Through sport, you learn to surpass yourself”
Urban Youth Games – Uccle
Last Friday, 21 October, we organised the Urban Youth Games in Uccle for the first time. And you were part of it! Together with more than 500 other children, your students were able to discover new sports at the Neerstalle and Uccle Sport complex.
Together with children from other schools, from both regular and special needs education, your pupils put “inclusion in action”. And what an unforgettable experience it was! They not only learned about new sports, but also experienced the added value of cooperation, fair play, and mutual respect.
One of the highlights of the day was the presence of top athletes Emilie Sinia (hockey) and Paulien Couckuyt (athletics). By trying new sports together with the children, they demonstrated that it is possible to achieve your dreams, as long as you keep believing in yourself, keep doing your best and have respect for others.
