How does the tax advantage of making a donation work?

We have created a fund through the King Baudouin Foundation. The mechanism is as follows:

  • The Friends of Olympic Urban Festival Fund is managed by the King Baudouin Foundation. Donations of 40 € or more per year to the Foundation benefit from a tax reduction of 45% of the amount actually paid (art. 145/33 CIR)’ and this to the exclusion of any other formula.
  • By using the following details, they will be able to benefit from the tax recovery and of course help us:
    Name: King Baudouin Foundation
    IBAN: BE10 0000 00000404
BIC: Banque de la Poste (Bpost) BPOTBEB1
    With the structured communication: 020/0310/00053

What does the UYG do with your donation?

Your donations allow us to implement our actions on the ground in favour of young people from all over Belgium. Your trust is essential, so we make sure that the sums donated are immediately invested in items that will serve to improve our projects (equipment, infrastructure, etc.).

How are the UYG organised?

The Urban Youth Games is an NGO. We created an ambitious roadmap throughout the year for youngsters aged 10-12 years (5th and 6th primary). The roadmap is divided into two strategic areas:

  1. The development of a pedagogical tool in schools, called “Inclusive Playbook”, which is created in collaboration with Sports Federations, Inclusion experts and key actors in Education.
  2. Large-scale events at different levels (local, regional and national), including 3 regional editions in 2021 (in Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels).

By putting sport at the service of inclusion, the UYG allows each child to become an actor for change. The activities help the children to exchange ideas, to work together and to grow. By breaking down social and cultural barriers through sport, we are able to raise awareness about the societal challenges of tomorrow.

Finally, by reuniting the children during major events, similar to the ‘Olympic Games’ in terms of atmosphere and dynamism, we provide an indispensable element for each young person to move forward and see the possibility of a more understanding and inclusive future: HOPE.

The Urban Youth Games in my region, my community

The Urban Youth Games are developing nationwide. You can also find them in the Brussels-Capital Region, in Flanders or in Wallonia. Information about the exact locations will be shared at a later stage.

How can I participate with my school/class?

You can download the playbooks from our website. More information on how to register for the events will be shared at a later stage.

Did Covid have an impact on the UYG?

Due to the corona crisis, we had to postpone our 2020 event. Internally, we have continued to work on new initiatives.

What is planned for 2021?

In September 2021, we will launch several playbooks accessible to all Belgian schools.

In addition, we will organise a digital challenge open to all schools in Belgium between 24 September and 29 October, completed by six regional events in the three regions. The events will take place in Molenbeek on 24 September and 22 October, in Ghent on 1 and 15 October and in the province of Liege on 8 and 19 October.
