Urban Youth Games

The Urban Youth Games go hybrid → “On your marks”

We believe in bringing the youth together, in promoting physical activity, giving them a sense of perspective and most of all create a message of hope. Given the uncertainties related to the health crisis, it’s been difficult for us to fulfil this mission. However, we have been thinking about solutions, weighing different options and we have come up with creative ideas to fulfil our mission.

We cannot wait for the day where we can once again organise major events and bring two thousand children together in different Belgian cities. But while the unpredictability remains, we came up with a solution that allows us to bring children together. With their bubble physically but with a broader audience online. Together the children, with their classmates can contribute to an online challenge and collect points for their class. The classes that succeed in collecting the most points get the opportunity to win sports equipment for their school or even a meet and greet with an athlete.

Through this digital platform, children together with their parents, brothers and sisters, can accept the challenge and participate in sports activities to their liking. Children will be able to take part in sports such as running, cycling, gymnastics, tennis, urban sports, poull ball,… but if sports isn’t your jam, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered too. Activities such as photography, dance, yoga and meditation are also included. With this digital challenge, we aim to give children perspective and hope.

With this platform, we also aim to engage our partners and provide them with a solution to promote a healthy active lifestyle among their employees and create a sense of belonging.

In addition to this digital challenge, we will bring children together again. Starting at the end of September and over a period of six weeks, we will host a mid-sized event each week alternating between our three partner cities: Molenbeek, the Province of Liège and Gent. During these offline events, we will offer children and our partners the opportunity to engage and practise different sports alongside our ambassadors.
