Together with our host city partners, the Urban Youth Games organise regional and local major sporting events to promote inclusion. We bring children from the 5th and 6th year of primary school together, with and without disabilities, and offer them different sports initiations while encouraging them to embrace the values of inclusion. This monumental event brought together children from all over Belgium to experience the values of inclusion. There was a grand opening ceremony built upon the values of respect, open-mindedness, friendship, and excellence. During this once-in-a-lifetime experience, 1500 children, with and without disabilities, was able to discover different sporting and other fun activities encouraged by Olympic athletes. They were able to forge new friendships and celebrate differences together.
